windream.CON IT convention – enthusiastic responses from 400 visitors

Two busy days at Bochum’s RuhrCongress

Bochum. windream GmbH, the producer and vendor of the windream Enterprise Content Management system, closed the gates of the second windream.CON IT convention in the afternoon of November 13. Like last year’s convention, the event was a great success. This not only showed in the increasing number of visitors, but also in the reactions to the about 40 presentations at the center of the two-day convention.

Over 400 guests – that is one third more than in the previous year – made their way to Bochum’s RuhrCongress at the heart of the Ruhr region. About one quarter of the participants were representatives of interested companies, wanting to inform themselves on the advantages of IT-based document management, workflow technologies, e-mail archiving, or on possibilities for the digital management of incoming and outgoing mail.

The new windream partner possesses more than 25 years of experience in this market sector. Companies from a wide variety of branches are among the customers of Böhme & Weihs. The CAQ software CASQ-it can, for example, be used in the automotive branch, in aeronautics, plant construction, medical and pharmaceutical engineering and in the chemical and food industries, and in many other branches, up to and including trading and the controlling of all quality-related processes.

Focus on basic knowledge

Especially the series of presentations on basic knowledge and on the different windream Enterprise Content Management products – a new introduction since last year’s convention – triggered many positive responses from the visitors. All in all, the steady flow of visitors in the single rooms of the convention showed that the interest in modern software products remains at an unchanged, high level.

Spontaneous fundraising campaign for Philippine typhoon victims

During a so-called “raffle rally“, the windream GmbH management board had a special surprise in store, which was unanimously welcomed by the visitors: a fundraising campaign for the typhoon victims in the Philippines. During his welcome speech on the morning of November 12, executive director Roger David announced that windream GmbH would donate 25 Euro for each ticket to land in the lottery wheel. Several thousand Euro were raised this way.

Document management across the times

This year’s keynote speaker was the former executive director of the “VOI“ IT association, Henner von der Banck. During an impressive journey across the ages, he showed the development of document management, from the library of Alexandria in pre-Christian times to today’s IT technologies; an exciting topic and great start into the two-day convention for all visitors.

windream continues to grow

Reports from users already working with windream products showed that customers are exceedingly satisfied with the use of the windream Enterprise Content Management system in their companies. All in all, windream GmbH recorded about 100 new customers in the running business year. Currently, more than 2000 companies with about 170,000 users are using the windream ECM system. During the last and during the running business year, the staff was extended by 10 members, to currently 75 employees; more than 20 experts alone work in the development department in the Bochum headquarters of the software producer.

This is why we chose Bochum’s RuhrCongress as the location for the windream.CON, once again. We want to draw attention to the large economic potential of this region.“

The next windream.CON is already planned for the year 2015.
