PORTICA receives renewed seal of quality from the DDV


Wiesbaden / Kempen. PORTICA has again been awarded the Seal of Quality in Data Processing and Fulfilment by the DDV, the German Dialog Marketing Association. In awarding this seal, the DDV has certified that PORTICA meets the quality and service standards of the DirectMail Services Council, guaranteeing exceptional client- and consumer-friendly work in these areas.

For PORTICA, a process service provider for IT, logistics and finance as well as a provider of a full range of e-commerce services, handling data is all part of a day’s work: data is compiled and processed as order, address, invoice and payment information. This means that a modern, efficient data infrastructure is an essential indicator of quality, as are principles of transparency and clarity, and constant observation of the German data protection act, the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG).

It goes without saying that PORTICA, as a full service provider, adheres closely to these standards. To guarantee this, PORTICA is regularly checked by external, independent auditors who test the company’s processes, infrastructure and legal compliance. The DDV’s Quality and Service Standards form the basis of the testing and certification process, aspects of which include: compliance with both data protection laws and self-imposed data protection requirements; adherence to obligations to provide information (BDSG, Robinson lists, advertising opt-outs etc.) to owners of addresses and to customers; providing all required information relating to pricing, orders and order confirmations; meeting requirements for information process management; providing prompt, transparent invoices; and training employees and maintaining a fair level of competition.

“Seals of quality attest to correct behaviour in these areas. They are a recognised trust-building symbol when used externally, and an additional management tool for quality assurance when used internally”, explained Michael te Neues, data protection officer at PORTICA. The renewal of this award also indicates continued client- and consumer-friendly work, since “receiving and adhering to these types of quality and service standards is one of the conditions for admission into the DDV’s DirectMail Services Council, of which PORTICA has been a member since 2002”, added Michael te Neues.
