PORTICA integrates PayPal Masspay into cashback campaigns
Kempen. For cashback promotions of all sorts – be they partner commissions, customer rebates, bonus payments, promotional activities or survey rewards – businesses working with PORTICA now have another option for issuing payments. The marketing and e-commerce logistics firm is one of the first providers to offer PayPal Masspay, integrating the service into its campaign management system PORTICA wcm. Using this system, payments can be made to participants’ PayPal accounts with a minimum of setup time.
Until now, businesses running cashback campaigns have made payments using cheques or bank transfers. “We determined that both of these processes were becoming less popular”, explained Norbert Haab, Head of Professional Services at PORTICA. Younger participants generally prefer not to receive cheques, as paying them in is a time-consuming process which often incurs extra costs. Bank transfers, meanwhile, have two drawbacks: participants tend to be reluctant to hand over their bank details, and payments using SEPA can be prone to errors since IBAN numbers are long and complex. “This is why we started to look for an alternative”, said Norbert Haab.
PORTICA struck gold with PayPal. The online payment provider’s PayPal Masspay service makes it possible to make collective payments to multiple recipients all at once. These payments are automatically sent from a client’s PayPal account or from a PayPal account managed by PORTICA. All payment data required is transferred to PayPal through an interface with PORTICA wcm. Thanks to this system, the payment process is simple and easy – even when paying participants in other countries. Enterprise-level reporting ensures that the entire process is fully transparent.
Participants are credited very quickly, with the total sum then immediately available in their PayPal account for further use – with no extra fees to pay. They also benefit from having to share fewer personal details. All that is needed to make payment is the participant’s email address; the sum is automatically assigned to their PayPal account. If a participant has no PayPal account, they will receive a notification to this effect and can set one up within minutes to receive their cashback payment. If a payment is unsuccessful, PORTICA is informed and its customer services department is able to contact the participant to retrieve the necessary details.
Thanks to PORTICA, businesses can now implement both B2B and B2C cashback campaigns using the most popular e-payment provider in Germany as measured by idealo. “Many groups can be targeted in this way, raising campaign acceptance rates and therefore boosting the success of each sales promotion,” explained Norbert Haab, adding: “We started receiving initial enquiries right away, and we are expecting particular interest from the consumer electronics, house and garden, and photo and technology sectors.”
