Pharmaceutical firm gets highly customised promotional material shop
Kempen. Another international drug manufacturer is replacing its existing promotional material solution with services from PORTICA. These include setting up a promotional material shop, item management, warehousing and shipping. The decisive factor was the ability of this full service provider in the fields of IT, logistics and financial and customer service processes to meet the pharmaceutical sector’s specific requirements reliably and on time.
The centrepiece of the solution is a closed B2B shop based on the OXID e-commerce platform. This allows the company’s employees to order any of 600 different items, including brochures, pens and demo kits, and to place promotion orders. Staff responsible for managing and updating items rely on the cloud-based solution known as PORTICA isa.
One key feature of PORTICA isa is its multi-tier approval process. All items must pass through this process before they can be ordered. The solution as a whole also stands out thanks to the extensive rights and roles system found both in PORTICA isa and the shop itself. This system guarantees, for example, that different administrators or user groups can only see the tasks and items they are supposed to. “In addition, PORTICA customised the shop and all its other processes to meet the pharmaceutical company’s exact needs. For example, order limits can be applied on a per-item, per-user-group basis for a given period of time. Different user groups can also select different sales units, shipping types and carriers”, explained Marie Driesser, Professional Services Project Manager at PORTICA. The logistical process is initiated using an interface between the shop and PORTICA erp.
All processes are documented in full to meet data retention requirements. To support this, PORTICA rapidly implemented an export process which allows the pharmaceutical company’s archiving services provider to further protect the required data. Employee training, and support for the drug manufacturer in case of any logistical questions, complete the range of services provided.
